In Need of Adoption
Larry

Larry is an adult fawn male shar pei (we aren't sure of exact age, but are guessing maybe 5?). He gets along with other dogs and people!
Larry is up to date on vaccines, will be neutered very soon and is microchipped. He is very playful and cute, likes kids, very cuddly and likes to nibble on your wrists affectionately. Sweet dog, really seems good with other dogs too. He even likes his crate. Likes toys, rawhides, chasing a ball. He walks great on a leash and loves attention.

Violet

Violet is a 2-3 year old german shepherd?/shar pei mix. She is only about 40 pounds and is great with people and all other dogs.
Violet came out of the shelter with 7 puppies. The puppies have all been weaned (she was a great mom!) and Violet is now spayed. She is also microchipped and up to date on vaccines.
Violet would make a great family dog. Very happy, is crate trained and is an easy dog to add to any family type.

Marvin

Marvin is a 6 month old shar pei mix puppy that was rescued from a central California shelter.
Marvin loves kids and other dogs. He is super playful and has a happy personality.
He is up to date on vaccines, micrchopped and needs a new home!

Oprah

Oprah is a chocolate female shar pei, about 1 year old.
She is recently spayed. She was found as a stray and gave the shelter vets no problems! She is good with other dogs.
She is up to date on vaccines and microchipped and would like a new home.
We are having her checkout out by our vet for her skin. We will post more as we learn more about her!

Sharlotte

Sharlotte is a fun loving, active 2 year old shar pei/boxer? mix! She loves to play, would make a great jogging partner, but also knows when it is time to cuddle with you on the couch. She rides well in the car and knows how to use a doggie door.
She is good with other dogs and loves people.
She'd love to be home with an active family. Sharlotte is about 50 pounds, is spayed, up to date on vaccines and is microchipped.

Champ
Featured in Orange County Register Newspaper. Click here to read the feature!

Champ is approximately 3-4 years old. He appears to be a shar pei/lab mix. He sits for treats, loves to fetch toys and is full of fun and energy. He will let you scratch him and hug him and he is very loving.

He is neutered and up to date on vaccinations. He is good with other dogs (not sure about cats) and is ready for a new home!
He is shy and tentative around new things (and can bark/growl and will put tail between legs when scared), but loves to play. Champ would do best in a nice stable home environment where he isn't subject to a lot of new stimulus. He would also love a yard to run around in. Champ would probably do best in a home without small kids (who can scare him with their unpredictability). He is about 45 pounds.
He already knows sit and shake!

Spike

Spike is a 7 year old shar pei chow mix. He is SUPER Mellow and just loves people. He would really like to find a home where he can follow you around (non-stop) and be your new best friend.
He is houstrained, rarely barks, is great with other dogs (as long as they don't jump all over him). He would really like a retiree or family where someone is home that he can spend time hanging around with.
Spike is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and healthy. He originally came from a shelter, but has been with Pei People Shar Pei Rescue for a couple months. He is currently in a foster home in Orange County, but would really like a family home. He walks easily on a leash, knows how to sit (and learns quickly - he LOVES treats).

Popeye

Popeye is a 4 year purebred old male shar pei. He is about 55 pounds and a real love! He gets along with other dogs, but not with cats.
Popeye is strong on a leash and very well behaved. He weighs about 55 pounds. He is used to sleeping in a dog bed on the floor. He will let you clean his ears and clip his nails. He will follow you anywhere.
Popeye is neutered, up to date on vaccines and is microchipped.

Got Ink??
Another way to donate is by collecting used ink cartridges from your printer, cell phones or larger toner cartridges from business printers.
We participate in a program that pays Pei People for our collection and recycling efforts!
We used to be able to send out envelopes so you could send them in directly, but the recycler stopped that program. If you have cartridges that you'd like to donate (original branded ones, no refilled ones please), please mail them to:

In Need of Adoption
Ginger & Roger
*mother/son pair*

Ginger (top photo) is a 7 year old female shar pei. Roger (bottom photo) is a 5 year old male shar pei. They are mother and son and were turned in by their owners to the shelter.
They are SUPER RELAXED and calm. Both are large and happy and would love to spend their day hanging out in a yard. They like being around people and other dogs. They don't need a high fence, cause they are happy at home with you!
See their You Tube video by clicking here
These two need to be adopted together. They have lived the last 5 years together and should enjoy the rest of their years together.
Both are super gentle and sweet. Both are crate trained, ride well in the car, are housetrained, and take treaks gently. They are both well mannered and get along with other dogs and kids. Both are quiet (not barkers at all) and love to give kisses and curl up with you.
Both are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines and full of love!!!
email: info@peipeople.com
Sally

Sally is a bonemouth female shar pei. She is recently spayed and ready for a new home. She was a shelter favorite and volunteers brought her to our attention because they thought she was so great!
Sally is 2-3 years old and is around 48 pounds. She is up to date on vaccines and is microshipped.
Sally is hit and miss with other dogs (sometimes growls at them on walks, other times not). She would do best as an only dog or with a submissive dog in the household. Sally is super sweet and loves to give kisses and take walks (she does need to learn some leash manners!).
email: info@peipeople.com
Hazel

Hazel is a 2 year old female lilac horsecoat shar pei. She is a mini and is probably about 35 pounds. She is very tentative around strangers and territorial (she will back up and bark at new people), but she does warm up. She is good with other dogs (she likes the boys).
Hazel was raised around small children and other dogs. She will be spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines prior to adoption.
Hazel will be available mid-August.
email: info@peipeople.com
Athena

Athena is a fawn/red brush coat chinese shar pei. We don't know her exact age, but are guessing 4-5 years. She is full sized, around 55 pounds (she could lose a few) and is typical pei. She walks well on a leash, but is stubborn and we aren't sure if she doesn't know "sit" or doesn't want to "sit". She was rescued with her brother(?) Hercules below. They are available separately, but we'd love to find them a home together. Athena would probably need to go to an only-dog household or be adopted with Hercules.
Athena will be spayed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped. She is absolutely gorgeous and would love a new home!
Email: info@peipeople.com
Hercules

Hercules is a male shar pei with great fawn/black mixed coloring. He is full sized at probably 60 pounds. He is very sweet, takes treats gently, but the shelter reported him to be food agressive with his bowl, so he needs an experienced adopter. We think he is about 5 years and he does need to lose a few pounds.
Hercules was rescued with his sister (?) Athena above and is available separately or together. Hercules is pretty mellow, walks well on a leash, appears ok with with other dogs, but he would be best adopted on his own or with his sister.
Hercules is already neutered, up to date on vaccines and will be microchipped prior to adoption.
