THANK YOU FOR HELPING US SAVE FELIX

Felix is currently in a high kill shelter.  He is a 2-3 year old male, almost a champagne color (the photo doesn't do him justice).   We have no room right now, so we asked to raise at least $300 to board him.  Thanks to you, we've hit our goal.  However, we can always use additional funds for his medical needs (or for other dogs!).

He is bailed out and we are evaluating him and will post more info as soon as we have it.  If you are interested in adopting Felix, please email us at info@peipeople.com!

Please donate below or email info@peipeople.com with a pledge.

In Need of Adoption

Huey

Huey is finally available for adoption.  This mini shar pei mix boy was found as a stray and assumed to have mange.  In fact, he has an auto-immune disorder that we have worked hard to bring under control.  His coat is growing back where he had lost it and while he will be on drugs probably for life (around $40/month), he is a happy and playful guy.

We aren't sure exactly how old he is.  Shelter said 5, but he plays like a much younger dog.  He gets along with almost all other dogs, particularly the girls.  So far we found one male that he picked a fight with, but he loves to play with everyone else.

He would do great in a home where the family is home much of the day (he LOVES attention).

Read about Huey's rescue and recovery in his own blog.

Sharlotte

Sharlotte is approximately 1-2 years old.  She is a fawn shar pei and is a real sweetie.  She is brand new and is great with people.  We are still checking her with other dogs, but she seemed fine at the kennel, not barking or bothering with the other cages.

Sharlotte is 45 pounds, but could stand to gain 2-3 pounds.   She is on some short-term medications to clean up skin problems and we've already clipped the long nails in the photo!

She will be spayed, is up to date on vaccines and microchipped.  She just needs a new home!

Kodiak
*adoption pending*

Kodiak is a 15 week old male long-coated black shar pei/chow chow mix puppy.    Kodak was rescued from a Utah shelter where he arrived at around 12 weeks and we can't believe no one scooped him up.

Kodiak is newly neutered, up to date on vaccines (too young for Rabies still) and is microchipped.  Kodiak is almost housetrained (he knows to go #1 outside and is working on #2).  He is very playful (loves toys) and sleeps through the night.  He is great with other dogs.  He loves to roughhouse with his foster sister and runs a million miles an hour.  He is definitely a spunky personality and at 23 pounds will try and scare his 60 pound foster brother away from his food so he can get some extra (it doesn't work!)

He'd love a house with lots of activity and toys and dogs that love to play and roughhouse as much as he does.

In Need of Adoption

Lola

Lola is a 41 pound, 1.5  year old cream colored female shar pei. (Shelter said 5 years, but our own vet says way under 2).  She is a mini and has a soft coat.   She has is slow to trust people and does not like to be handled by strangers and needs to be worked with on getting used to be touched or picked up.  So for now, she will not do well with a family with small kids.

We'd love to find her an experienced owner.  She can be good with dogs, but if they agress (growl, bark, lunge) at her, she will be right back in their face agressing back.  She wil do well as a single dog or with a submissive male dog.

Lola is spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines - ready for her new home!

Panda

Panda is a smallish (but long) 4 year old female horsecoat shar pei. She likes male dogs, but not so much female dogs. she is good with people.  Her coat has spruced up and she is a little under weight in this photo because she just had pups.

She is spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines prior to adoption.  She is housetrained.

Curly

Curly is a one year old female shar pei.  She is brindle colored and was given up when her owners dumped her at the shelter and literally ran out.

She is about 42 pounds, microchipped and up to date on vaccines.   She is good with other dogs.

She has a super soft coat and is a little underweight.

Got Ink??

Another way to donate is by collecting used ink cartridges from your printer, cell phones or larger toner cartridges from business printers.
We participate in a program that pays Pei People for our collection and recycling efforts!

We used to be able to send out envelopes so you could send them in directly, but the recycler stopped that program.  If you have cartridges that you'd like to donate (original branded ones, no refilled ones please), please mail them to:

Lady
*adoption pending*
Lady is a 16 month old female fawn/red shar pei.  She is good with other dogs and kids!  She does have a skin issue that we are working on clearing up (it is a simple fix and some good food, but will take months to have all her hair come back).  She is a mini and only 37 pounds.    She plays like a puppy but is totally housetrained.   Loves to give kisses and follow you around.

She is spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines.

In Need of Adoption

Ginger & Roger
*mother/son pair*

Ginger (front of photo) is a 6 year old female shar pei.  Roger (rear in photo) is a 4 year old male shar pei.  They are mother and son and were turned in by their owners to the shelter.

See their You Tube video by clicking here
These two need to be adopted together.   They have lived the last 4 years together and should enjoy the rest of their years together.

Both are super gentle and sweet.  Both are crate trained, ride well in the car,  are housetrained, and take treaks gently.  They are both well mannered and get along with other dogs and kids.   Both are quiet (not barkers at all) and love to give kisses and curl up with you.

Both are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines and full of love!!!

Champ
Featured in Orange County Register Newspaper on July 20, 2009.  Click here to read the feature!

Champ is approximately 3 years old.  He appears to be a shar pei/lab mix.  He sits for treats, loves to fetch toys and is full of fun and energy.  He will let you scratch him and hug him and he is very loving.

He is neutered and up to date on vaccinations.   He is good with other dogs (not sure about cats) and is ready for a new home!

He is shy and tentative around new things (and can bark/growl and will put tail between legs when scared), but loves to play.  Champ would do best in a nice stable home environment where he isn't subject to a lot of new stimulus.  He would also love a yard to run around in.  Champ would probably do best in a home without small kids (who can scare him with their unpredictability).  He is about 45 pounds.

He already knows sit and shake!

Uno

Uno is a 4-5 year old male shar pei mix, found stray in the Ridgecrest area.  He is about 55 pounds and is super sweet.   He is neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines prior to adoption.

Uno is awesome with other dogs, small kids and people.  He loves to give licks and is very active but can also be very calm and relaxed.  He does pull a little on the leash, but we are working on that.  He is a goof-proof dog you can take to the dog park, kid's ball games and family events without worry.

Uno is on supplements for arthritis in his wrist (you can see lump on left front paw); it doesn't seem to bother him so no limitations on activity.

email: info@peipeople.com

Sho-chu

Sho-chu (pronounced "show-chew") is an approximately two year old fawn-colored male.

He is active and loves to play with toys.  He gets along with other dogs and is good with kids.  (His foster family has other dogs and small kids).

Sho-chu would love an owner that likes to jog/run or share lots of exercise.   He has lots of energy and will do well with lots of activity.

Sho-chu is neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped and ready for adoption.
