In Need of Adoption
Sho-chu

Sho-chu (pronounced "show-chew") is an approximately two year old fawn-colored male.
He is very active, is quite clever at getting out of pens and yards (but he always comes back!) and loves to play with toys. He does get along with other dogs and is good with kids.
Sho-chu is neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped and ready for adoption.

Nemo

Nemo is a male purebred shar pei, approximately 5 1/2 years old. He is super sweet, good with other dogs and people. We have been treating Nemo's skin problems (he is missing hair on his face and part of legs) and he is just starting to grow hair back on his face!

Nemo is supersweet and gentle and comes when he is called. He wants to be part of the family and does bark if he is separated and can see you (i.e. stuck out in yard and you are in the house - he is ok if you leave the home). He would do best in a home where someone is home most of the time or there are other dogs.
Nemo is crate trained and is used to sleeping in crate (he will adjust if you don't want to use a crate). He is fully vaccinated, neutered and microchipped and ready for adoption.

special thanks to Nemo's fairygodmother, Bev!
Merlin

Merlin is a gorgeous black 7+ year old male. He was turned found by a vet's office who treated him for some now healed leg injuries, and then no one came to claim him (we can't understand why cause he is awesome!).
He is a calm, warm old soul with the heart of a puppy. He walks well on leash, enjoys treats and loves head & back rubs. He is kind, good natured and patient. He gets along with other dogs and kids and his foster parents think he is a very easy pet.
His eyes will need to be monitored for entropian (rolling eyelids), but it will be worth it for this sweet sweet boy! He is about 55 pounds.

Got Ink??
Another way to donate is by collecting used ink cartridges from your printer, cell phones or larger toner cartridges from business printers.
We participate in a program that pays Pei People for our collection and recycling efforts!
We used to be able to send out envelopes so you could send them in directly, but the recycler stopped that program. If you have cartridges that you'd like to donate (original branded ones, no refilled ones please), please mail them to:

In Need of Adoption
Gracie

Gracie is an approximately 3 year old female fawn-colored shar pei. She was found as a stray, limping and with severe eye problems from entropian (rolling eyelids that rub against eyes). She was also undernourished. She is recovered nicely!!! Her eyes still need some attention (you can see one is a little goopy).

She is about 43 pounds, is crate trained and house trained. She is super sweet and seems good with other dogs. She loves people and is very laid back and happy!
email: info@peipeople.com
Marley

Marley is an approximately 1 1/2 year old spayed female Shar Pei. She is great with kids and adults, but does not care for other dogs and can be very agressive with them.
She will make a great pet for someone willing to work with her (and a trainer or behavioralist). Being young, we are optimistic she can be retrained.
Marley is up to date on vaccines and is ready for adoption!
email: info@peipeople.com
Luna

Luna is a 3 1/2 year old female mini shar pei! She is 44 pounds but small (she could stand to lose a pound or two!).

She is super sweet and loves to come up and beg for a head scratch! Her coat is very soft. She loves to interact with people, but can be picky with other dogs. Most of the time she is fine, but sometimes she doesn't play well with other dogs - she will do best as the only dog in the house.
Luna is spayed and microchipped and up to date on vaccines. She has a plaful personality, is housetrained and loves sleeping in her crate.

In Need of Adoption
Ginger & Roger
*mother/son pair*

Ginger (front of photo) is a 6 year old female shar pei. Roger (rear in photo) is a 4 year old male shar pei. They are mother and son and were turned in by their owners to the shelter.
These two need to be adopted together. They have lived the last 4 years together and should enjoy the rest of their years together. See video below that was made just prior to getting them out of the shelter!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oCfxRg5MTpo
Roger is almost 80 pounds. Ginger is 54 pounds. Both are super gentle and sweet. Both are crate trained, ride well in the car, walk well on a leash, are housetrained, and take treaks gently. They are both well mannered and get along with other dogs and kids. Both are quiet (no barkers at all) and love to give kisses and curl up with you.
Both are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines and full of love!!!
email: info@peipeople.com
Champ

Champ is approximately 3 years old. He appears to be a shar pei/lab mix. He sits for treats, loves to fetch toys and is full of fun and energy. He will let you scratch him and hug him and he is very loving.

He is neutered and up to date on vaccinations. He appears to be good with kids, is good with other dogs (not sure about cats) and is ready for a new home!
He is shy and tentative around new things (and can bark/growl and will put tail between legs when scared), but loves to play. Champ would do best in a nice stable home environment where he isn't subject to a lot of new stimulus. He would also love a yard to run around in. Champ would probably do best in a home without small kids (who can scare him with their unpredictability). He is about 45 pounds.
At his foster home, he is discovering mirrors (who is that doggie in the window staring back at me?), stairs and lots of love! He would learn basic obedience quickly (he already knows sit and shake!)

Bertha
* senior *

Bertha is an 11 year old female shar pei who was left by her owners at the shelter.

She is awesome...you'd know she is not a puppy, but not that she is 11. (Imagine one of this hip and active senior citizens you know!) She walks well on a leash (she is overweight at 64 pounds, so she needs the walking!) She is gentle and loving. She rides well in the car, is housetrained and would make a great family pet!
She is spayed, up to date on vaccines and ready to move into her new "retirement" home!
email: info@peipeople.com
Hannah

Hannah is approximately 5 years old. She is a purebred shar pei that was once used for breeding. She is an absolutely gorgeous fawn meat-mouth. She will be spayed and up to date on vaccines prior to adoption.
Hannah is shy around new things (loud noises, new people), but learns and warms up quickly. She is very loving, is good with kids and other dogs and just loves people who love her!
email: info@peipeople.com
Blue Man

Blue Man is approximately 5 years old and is a purebred blue male shar pei. He needs a very special adopter as he is a one-person kind of dog and barks and shows agression at others. He has never lived outside a breeding environment, so he needs someone that is willing to work with him and shine him to become a true jewel!
Blue Man will be neutered and up to date on vaccines prior to adoption. Experienced dogs owners only please for Blue Man!
